# Installation

Requirements, the economy plugins and the first start.

## Requirements

* A **Spigot** or **Paper** server from **1.21.1 to 26.3**, or a fork of Paper such as Purpur or Folia.
* **Java 21** or newer.
* At least one currency:
  * **Vault** with an economy plugin (EssentialsX, CMI, XConomy...) for tables that play with **money**.
  * **PlayerPoints** for tables that play with **points**.
* Optional: **PlaceholderAPI** for [placeholders](/rnsetups/rncasino/reference/placeholders.md).

On **Spigot** the plugin downloads the text library it needs (Adventure) from Maven Central the first time it starts. Paper, Purpur and Folia already have it.

The original **Vault** does not run on **Folia**. On Folia, use a Vault version made for Folia (such as VaultUnlocked) with an economy plugin that runs on Folia, or play with PlayerPoints.

## Steps

1. Download the newest `rnCasino` jar (for example `rnCasino-1.1.0.jar`) and put it in the `plugins/` folder.
2. Restart the server (do not use `/reload`).
3. The plugin creates `plugins/rnCasino/` with its files (see [Files overview](/rnsetups/rncasino/getting-started/files.md)).
4. Open `config.yml` and set `language` to `en` or `es`. Changes apply a few seconds after saving.

The console shows lines like these:

[rnCasino] Running on Paper with 0 table(s).
[rnCasino] Data is kept in SQLite (data/casino.db).
```

## First test

1. Stand on flat ground, look where the table should go and type `/casino create main`.
2. Right click a number on the cloth. The round starts and the timer appears on the hologram.
3. Wait for the spin. You get the result as a title and a chat message.
