# Bets and payouts

Every bet, what it pays, la partage and the tax.

The payout is what a winning bet **gives back, the bet included**: a 100 chip on a number that wins gives back 3,600 (a profit of 3,500, "35 to 1").

0 and 00 lose every bet except the number itself and green.

Change any payout under `payouts` in `config.yml` (or in `/casino editor`):

On the American wheel green covers two numbers (0 and 00), so it pays half: `green-american`. With the default payouts, the house edge is 2.7% on European tables and 5.26% on American tables, like a real casino.

## European or American

Each table has its own wheel (`wheel: EUROPEAN` or `AMERICAN`):

* **European**: 37 pockets (0-36). The numbers are in the order of a real European wheel.
* **American**: 38 pockets (0, 00 and 1-36), in the order of a real American wheel. The cloth gets a 00 spot.

## La partage

`rules.la-partage: true` (European tables only): when 0 comes out, the even-money bets (red, black, even, odd, 1-18, 19-36) get **half** of the bet back instead of losing it. This halves the house edge on those bets, like many European casinos.

## Tax

`rules.tax-percent` keeps a part of the **profit** of each win (never of the bet). With `tax-percent: 5`, a 100 bet on red that wins gives back 195 instead of 200.

## Points

Tables with `currency: playerpoints` only take whole points. Payouts are rounded down to a whole point.

## Seen in game

The **Payouts** button in the More menu shows the payouts of that table, its wheel and whether la partage is on.
