# Responsible gaming

Daily limits, reality checks, self-exclusion and the limits of each table.

rnCasino has the tools of a real online casino to keep the game fun. They are all under `limits` in `config.yml` (or in `/casino editor`).

## Daily limits

```yaml
limits:
  max-rounds-per-day: 0
  max-loss-per-day: 0
```

* `max-rounds-per-day`: rounds one player may play per day. A round counts once, however many chips you put down.
* `max-loss-per-day`: the most one player may **lose** per day. A chip that could take the player past it is refused, so the limit is never crossed, even if every bet on the table loses.

`0` = no limit. The limits count per currency (money and points apart) and over every table together. The day starts at midnight, server time.

## Reality check

```yaml
limits:
  reality-check-minutes: 30
```

Every 30 minutes of play the player gets a message with how long they have been playing and what they won or lost in that time. `0` turns it off. The text is `limits.reality-up` / `limits.reality-down` in the language files.

## Self-exclusion

A player can stop themselves from betting:

/casino exclude <days>
```

* From 1 day to `max-exclude-days` (365 by default). A menu asks before it is applied.
* While it runs, the player can't put chips down at any table. They are told how long is left.
* **Only an admin can lift it** early: `/casino unexclude <player>` (permission `rncasino.admin`). It is kept in the database, so it survives restarts.
* The **Take a break** button in the More menu explains it.

`%rncasino_excluded%` is `yes` while a player is excluded.

## Limits of each table

Each table has its own limits (see [Tables](/rnsetups/rncasino/configuration/tables.md)):

| Option               | What it limits                                   |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| `min-bet`            | Smallest chip on one spot                        |
| `max-bet-per-player` | Most one player may bet in one round             |
| `max-bet-per-spot`   | Most one player may put on one spot in one round |
| `max-bet-per-table`  | Most all players together may bet in one round   |

`0` = no limit (except `min-bet`).
