# Files overview

What each file in plugins/rnPsMenu does.

| `menus.yml`                            | Layout of every menu: rows, slots, items, sounds and your own buttons. See [Menus](/rnsetups/rnpsmenu/configuration/menus.md).                                                               |
| `flags.yml`                            | Order and icon of each flag, hidden flags, and flags kept for some block types or a permission. See [Flags](/rnsetups/rnpsmenu/guides/flags.md).                                             |

## Safe updates

* New options of a new version are **added to your files** with their comments; nothing you wrote is changed.
* A file with a YAML mistake is never overwritten: the console shows the line and how to fix it, and the plugin uses the defaults until you fix it.
* Files are applied by themselves a few seconds after you save them (`auto-reload`), or with `/psmenu reload`.
