# Worlds and performance

The worlds of the setup and the performance defaults.

## Worlds

* `world` (overworld), `world_nether` and `world_the_end` are created on the first start with a random seed.
* The `void` world is the **spawn hub**. It ships with the setup and uses VoidGen, so do not delete `world/dimensions/minecraft/void`.
* WorldGuard regions protect the whole spawn map and mark the PvP coliseum (`zone-pvp`) and the animal farm (`farm`). Nobody can build or open containers at the spawn.
* A world border of 620 blocks, centered on the spawn, keeps players inside the spawn map. Change it with `/execute in minecraft:void run worldborder ...`.
* Players who fall off the spawn are sent back to `/spawn` and keep their items. This is the ConditionalEvents event `void_fall_to_spawn` in `plugins/ConditionalEvents/config.yml`.
* Random teleport sends players to the survival world.
* Graves are disabled at the spawn, so items drop on the ground when a player dies in the PvP coliseum. In the survival worlds a grave keeps the items.

## Animal farm

The pig spawners of the farm have custom spawn rules, so they work on any floor (animals from spawners normally need grass under them). Pigs that walk out of the farm can be killed with one hit (event `spawn_escaped_pig_kill`). To give the same rules to a new spawner, look at it and run:

```
/data merge block <x> <y> <z> {SpawnData:{entity:{id:"minecraft:pig"},custom_spawn_rules:{}}}
```

## Performance defaults

`bukkit.yml`, `spigot.yml` and `config/paper-global.yml` are pre-tuned (lower mob caps, entity activation ranges and packet limits). `server.properties` ships with `max-players=100`, `view-distance=10` and `simulation-distance=6`.

{% hint style="info" %}
Raise the view and simulation distance only if your hardware can handle it. Simulation distance is what costs the most CPU.
{% endhint %}
